Beatport Dj Web App

The newest addition to Beatport’s growing suite of DJ streaming tools, Beatport DJ is a web-based app that will revolutionize how you discover and play music online.

Designed for DJs, the entire experience is built to help you quickly find music, mix two songs together, and build your performance playlists. With its easy-to-use, two-deck interface and tons of music from almost any genre, the web app has leveled the playing field for new DJs looking to learn the ropes.

As a seasoned DJ, there’s never been an easier way to find music, test mixes, and build playlists. And if you’re curious about learning how to DJ, Beatport’s web app is the perfect place to start. But Beatport DJ is also a great place to discover new music, with tons of ready-made playlists by some of the biggest artists and labels in the world sitting alongside playlists from Beatport’s expert curation team.

The full Beatport DJ web app experience is only available to Beatport subscribers (a two-minute track preview is available for anyone to try), so if you’re not already signed up, there’s never been a better time to subscribe.

Plans start at $9.99/month and include access to Beatport’s new mobile app, providing a full suite of personal DJ assistant tools and untethered access to Beatport’s entire catalog of electronic music. But if you’re looking for help getting started with Beartport’s new DJ web app, we’ve got you covered.

Watch the video below, or follow along with this step-by-step guide. To get started, you’ll first need to sign in using your existing Beatport username and password. From there, you’ll be prompted to take a short tour of the web app, which shows you how to load the left deck, the right deck, where the crossfader is, and lets you know how to add a playlist.

You can even migrate playlists from Spotify, iTunes, or Apple Music, but we’ll get to that later. It is also possible to connect your DJ controller to the DJ web app.

First, here’s a quick rundown of what’s included in the virtual DJ setup. Fader — fades the volume output between the left and right deckCue — clicking this while your track is playing will bring it back to the beginningFX — click this to unlock 10 different FX, like reverb, flanger and echoPitch Control — hear what your tracks will sound like at slower or faster speedsAutomix — the Beatport DJ app mixes your playlists automaticallyGain — controls the volume for each of the two decksHigh/Mid/Low Filters — controls the high, mid and low frequenciesHigh Pass/Low Pass Filter — use these to fully kill the low or high frequencies.

Making your first mix couldn’t be easier. Click the left or right arrow next to any track, and it will automatically load into the left or right deck.

Once you have two tracks ready to go, click play, and you’re off. From there, you can either click Automix to let the app mix for you (more on that below), or use the Sync button to keep your tracks in phase. Use the EQs, fader and gains to blend the track, and click the Cue button to bring the track back to its original cue point, which is usually the beginning of the track.

If you’d like to find more music by the artist currently playing, you can click the track name, the artist name, the genre, or the record label, and you’ll be taken to their respective pages without leaving the DJ app!

Building playlists in the DJ app online is a snap. But if you’re not sure where to start, the web app includes Beatport’s top 100 tracks, DJ charts from the world’s best selectors, playlists from Beatport’s expert curation team, and features the latest trending artists and labels.

Click on one of the label or artist icons, and you’ll instantly see their top 10 tracks, or click View Top 100 to see more of the label’s most popular releases.

Click the left or right arrows next to each track to start a new DJ set (you may need to disable Automix first), or click Automix to hear the Top 10 Tracks played continuously. You can add any of the tracks you find on the free DJ app online to any of your playlists by clicking the three dots to the right of the song and accessing the dropdown menu, or by dragging and dropping to your playlists on the left side of the screen.Your playlists built in Beatport DJ will automatically sync to My Library in the Beatport store, Beatport Mobile, or any of our LINK-connected third-party DJ platforms.

Once your playlist is ready, it’s time to try out the Automix feature. The Automix function is perfect for building playlists since you can audition new tunes right in the web app — even when you need to multitask.

Even while the Automix is on, you can drag and drop tracks in the playlist to rearrange the song order.

Even better, your Beatport playlists will automatically sync, so any changes made in the app will show up next time you play using LINK in your DJ gear, or when browsing music in Beatport Mobile. Beatport DJ is only available to Beatport subscribers, but that doesn’t mean you can’t DJ in the Beatport DJ web app with playlists you’ve built on platforms like Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and elsewhere.

And with TuneMyMusic, it’s as easy as a few clicks. Just link your account, select the source, and link your playlist. Once that’s done, you’ll be asked to select your destination.

In this case, click Beatport. You’ll be asked to sign in, then TuneMyMusic will automatically begin transferring your music. Once the transfer is complete, you’ll be asked whether or not you want to sync your playlists.

Syncing will keep your playlist updated all the time by performing changes in your playlist according to changes made in the source playlist.
